Abstract This paper describes how online qualitative tools are becoming more sophisticated and easier to use and have lead to greater acceptance within the market research community. The unique advantages available in online groups will increase as technology and bandwidth improvements allow closer replication of traditional focus group methodology. Involvement by professional qualitative researchers is essential to insure the continued growth and development of even more responsive and powerful online qualitative tools for the future.
